From plain jane shoe box to beautiful decorative keepsake.... box

Do you have things that are in need of being organized... but don't have a place to put them? Have you ever thought of making a pretty box? It is simple and fun! Just saying, I took an afternoon and created these beauties.

Step 1: Gather materials (shoe box, mod podge glue, foam brush, foam bowl for glue, scissors/paper cutter, pencil)
Step 2: Cut paper into desired sizes
Step 3: Dip brush in glue and have a party!

...and voila! You now have a beautiful box to put things in

Dearest pinterest... you have helped me achieve some of my goals during this Christmas break. Thank you.

A little bite of Christmas break

So... here's a little story for you. Once upon a time, there was a girl. Now that she has a car, all of the little girls in the family have wheels. This means that they can come and go whenever they wish. This Christmas break I have driven back and forth between Provo and home 2 times... that is more times than the past semester. Granted, the drive is only one hour--- still... it is more traveling than I have done in a while. The funny thing is... I haven't hit my main point yet. This
Christmas break, I have been to 3 wedding receptions. I love marriages. I had my fun times... and my funny times..... like getting lost on my way to Salem, Utah. I first turned on a street in Spanish Fork, but when I got to be in the right city, I ended up driving around the entire lake before finding the reception center. Jenny and Gavin's reception was beautiful. The flowers, the food, the video, the people... everything was fantastic. She used dark blue, red, and white for her colors. Tall vases contained long-stemmed roses and calla lilies-- elegant.

Anyways, wedding receptions are wonderful, and I am still considering doing food production management, even catering, for a career. That night was funny because of what I found at my apartment after the reception. I walked in, knowing I was the last one to leave it, and most likely the first to see it in the middle of the break...... and I walked into my bathroom and saw this:

MY poor mirror!!! I think this means bad luck for 7 years.... let's just hope the bad luck decides to be days instead of years. So, after crying my eyes out (*just kidding*) I cleaned that up, then went to visit one of my really good friends. We had a mad chat, then I headed over to my sister's apartment in Orem to stay the night. We chatted for a while and caught up with each other, then we went to sleep. In the morning, I drove home to my parents' home and it was another good day.

Later that week, I wanted to finish up a BIG project that has been on my mind for months now. I decided that my jean quilt that I started earlier this summer was going to be finished by Christmas. YES, it's a plan! My mom was able to help me gather the materials I needed, and we got to work. She helped me tie the quilt, and I did all of the sewing. This baby is mine.

Pretty good looking, eh? It was quite a large project in the beginning (taking hours to cut out jeans, and then arrange them into a nice looking pattern) but I think it turned out rather well. I'm so happy that it is finished. Now, I can bring it back to Provo and be comforted by its warmth :)

"It's so FLUFFY I could die!!!" ..... well, not really, but I love it

Now... only if it would snow a little, I would enjoy it a little bit more......

***Pictures of more crafts completed during the break are still to come***

Health Bite: Go for the pumpkin pie instead of the pecan pie. It has much less fat, and the pumpkin is full of healthy vitamins and is pretty tasty.

Mysterious Card

So.... a couple of weeks ago, my parents found a letter for me--- sent on December 6, with no return address.... the only thing inside was this picture (printed on computer paper). Tell me your thoughts people.... nice, thoughtful gesture or creepy?

I saw it today, and I just can't figure out what to think. The only think I know is that the sender mailed it from Salt Lake City. I wonder who it is from....

After thinking hard, I still could not figure out who it could be from, so I decided to do a google search on the picture. I found the photo pretty easily, and the location is similar to the postmark of the sender.... This picture is taken by the Great Salt Lake. Interesting, eh?

My dad thought "previous boyfriend?"... but I didn't think that was a possibility. Then, I got to thinking... maybe one of my past roommates. For now though, the mystery goes on. Who are you, mysterious letter giver?

-With love, Jeannine
